The fastest-growing hijab format — and the one most wholesale buyers underestimate at the sourcing stage
Instant hijabs outsell traditional square and rectangular styles in most Western market modest fashion retail today. The reason is straightforward: they remove the two biggest friction points of wearing hijab — the time it takes to style, and the pins that most wearers find uncomfortable by midday. Once a customer switches to a pull on hijab — a no pin hijab with no styling time and no pins required — they rarely go back.
The sourcing challenge is that “instant hijab” — also called pre sewn hijab or one piece hijab depending on the market — covers very different constructions, and the wrong one for your market erodes the convenience advantage. A tube-style instant hijab in jersey works well for athleisure and casual wear but looks too casual for a professional context. A chiffon two-piece style gives the appearance of a traditional hijab and works across settings — but if the inner cap is cut too large or made from the wrong fabric, it slips. We have built our instant hijab range around these details rather than starting with the outer appearance and ignoring what holds it in place.
One thing first-time buyers get wrong: they order too few colours. An instant hijab is a simple garment, so colour does most of the selling — most customers who like the fit come back for more colours. Launching with 6–8 colours instead of 3–4 outperforms at retail in this category almost every time.

Instant Hijab Styles We Manufacture
Four main constructions — each suited to different end-uses and retail price points.
Two-Piece Instant Hijab
Inner undercap plus outer drape piece. The most popular wholesale format. The cap secures the hair, the outer piece provides the draped appearance. Gives the closest look to a traditionally styled hijab while requiring no pins. Available in jersey cap with chiffon, viscose, or modal outer.
Tube / Pull-On Hijab
Single-piece jersey tube that stretches to fit over the head. The simplest construction, lowest unit cost, and easiest to put on. Best suited for casual, athleisure, and youth markets. Less formal appearance than two-piece styles — not typically used for professional or occasion wear.
Chiffon Instant Hijab
Jersey or cotton-modal inner cap with a chiffon outer drape attached at the face frame. Delivers the flowing, lightweight look of a traditional chiffon hijab with pull-on convenience. The most requested style from UK and US boutique buyers. Slightly higher unit cost due to dual-fabric construction.
Sports / Active Instant Hijab
Form-fitting pull-on style in moisture-wicking polyester or nylon-spandex blend. Designed for physical activity — no volume, no drape, stays in place during movement. Increasing demand from buyers targeting Muslim athletes, school sports programs, and gym-friendly modest fashion ranges.
Pleated Instant Hijab
Pre-pleated front panel attached to a pull-on cap. Creates a structured, polished appearance without the styling effort of a traditional pleated hijab. Mid-price point between standard two-piece and embellished styles. Popular for occasion and semi-formal markets.
Printed Instant Hijab
Sublimation or digital print applied to tube or two-piece bases. Floral, geometric, and brand-logo prints available. Print-on-demand minimums are higher than solid-color orders — contact us for print-specific minimums. Most effective for fashion-forward brands and gift collections.
Fabric Options for Instant Hijab
The fabric decision splits between the inner cap and the outer visible layer. Getting both right is what determines whether the instant hijab stays put and whether it looks like a deliberate product rather than a compromise.
Cotton-Jersey (Inner Cap)
Standard inner cap fabric. Soft against the scalp and hairline, does not slip on most hair types. Slight stretch for easy fitting. We use a 200–220 gsm cotton-jersey for caps — lighter weights tend to slide, heavier weights are too stiff at the face frame.
Cotton-Modal Blend (Inner Cap)
Softer than pure cotton-jersey with a slight natural sheen. Better for buyers marketing at a premium price point — the hand feel is noticeably different and communicates quality. Used in our premium two-piece and pleated instant hijab range.
Viscose Jersey (Outer Drape)
The most widely used outer drape fabric. Natural drape, semi-matte finish, mid-weight. Slightly more opaque than chiffon and more wrinkle-resistant. Works well for both casual and semi-formal settings. Available in the widest color range of our outer drape options.
Chiffon (Outer Drape)
Lightweight, flowing, semi-transparent. Requires the inner cap to handle all coverage — the chiffon is decorative. Best for brands whose customers are used to traditional chiffon hijabs and want the same look with pull-on convenience. Available in 40+ colors.
Polyester Moisture-Wick (Sports)
Quick-dry, stretch-fit fabric for sports instant hijab styles. Typically 88% polyester / 12% spandex or similar. UPF 50+ available on request. The only fabric in our instant hijab range where we recommend against cotton — cotton holds sweat and becomes heavy during activity.
Satin (Occasion)
Satin outer drape with cotton-modal inner cap for formal and occasion instant hijabs. Higher unit cost and lower order volume than everyday styles. Effective for Eid and wedding guest collections where the pull-on convenience is valued but a premium finish is expected.

OEM, ODM & Private Label for Instant Hijabs
OEM — Your Own Design
Submit measurements, construction spec, or a reference sample. We pattern and produce to your specification. Common for brands who have tested a specific cap fit or drape dimension with their customers.
ODM — Modify Our Base Styles
Select from our instant hijab library and adjust color, outer drape fabric, cap size, or face frame treatment. Fastest route to a finished product for brands entering the category for the first time.
Private Label
Add your woven labels and packaging to our standard instant hijab styles. Lowest investment entry point — best for retailers adding instant hijabs as a complement to an existing modest fashion range.
Colour Options — 40+ Stock Colours
46+ stock colours across viscose jersey, cotton-jersey, chiffon, and modal options. All colours available for Pantone-matched custom dyeing on request. Colour availability varies by fabric type — confirm at quote stage.
Why Our Inner Caps Don’t Slip
The inner cap is the most-returned component in two-piece instant hijab wholesale — not because of the outer drape, but because a cap cut for a size-M head sits too loose on a size-S head and shifts by midday. We built our cap construction around this problem.
Every inner cap is verified against head circumference size spec, tested for elastic recovery after 10 stretch cycles, and checked that the face frame retains its shape after washing. We use 200–220 gsm cotton-jersey for all standard caps — lighter weights slide, heavier weights are too stiff at the hairline.
If your current supplier’s two-piece instant hijab generates fit complaints, it’s almost always the cap. Ask us to send a fit sample alongside your style sample so you can compare directly.
Batch Consistency — What We Check Before We Cut
The most common complaint after a successful first sample: “The bulk fabric feels different from what I approved.” Dye lots shift. Fibre composition drifts between mills. By the time it reaches your customer, it’s your brand problem.
Three checks on every bulk run before cutting begins:
- Fabric weight verification — tolerance ±5% gsm against your approved sample
- Fibre composition certificate — from mill, matched against spec before cutting
- Hand-feel sign-off — side-by-side against your pre-production sample
Production does not start until you approve the pre-production fabric. Balance payment is not due until inspection images are sent to you.
Quality Control — What Actually Fails in Instant Hijab Production
Instant hijabs are simple garments, but the failure modes are specific. As an instant hijab manufacturer, here are the three checks that prevent the most common wholesale complaints:
Inner Cap Fit Grading
The inner cap is the most-returned component of two-piece instant hijabs. A cap that fits a size-M head sits too loose on a size-S head and creates a gap at the hairline. We check cap opening measurements against size spec for each SKU, elastic recovery after 10 stretch cycles, and that the face opening retains its shape after washing.
Outer/Inner Join Seam
The seam joining the inner cap to the outer drape on two-piece constructions is the first failure point in wholesale returns. If seam allowance is too narrow or overlock stitch density is too low, the join starts separating at the fold after five to ten wears. We check: seam allowance minimum 1 cm, stitch density minimum 14 stitches per inch, and pull test with no separation under 5 kg force.
Bulk Fabric vs. Sample Match
The most common second-order complaint: the hijab feels different from the first batch. Fabric gsm and fiber composition can drift between dye lots. We check: fabric weight tolerance ±5% gsm, fiber composition certificate from mill, and hand-feel comparison against the approved pre-production sample before full production begins.
These three sit on top of a documented final inspection that runs to AQL 2.5, with defect thresholds agreed in writing before production and inspection images sent to you before the balance payment is due. If a third-party inspection is required by your market or your buyer, we cooperate with the nominated agency and schedule it into the production calendar before the run starts — SGS, Bureau Veritas and Intertek have all inspected on our floor.
Brands We’ve Supplied
A few representative instant hijab buyers from the US and UK. Names stay private unless the buyer agrees — say the word and we will introduce you to someone selling in your market.
Challenge: bulk fabric 1–2 shades off samples across two consecutive orders. Customer return rate on two-piece hijabs at 11% for fit issues.
Pre-production Pantone fabric sign-off before cutting. Inner cap pattern adjusted to two size variants (standard + petite) based on their customer feedback.
Result: 6-colour launch at MOQ 50 per colour. Sold through in 6 weeks. Reorder at 200 pcs per colour with two additional styles added.
“Single-supplier sourcing saves the back-and-forth. The small batch model makes the risk manageable at our scale.”
Challenge: first-time instant hijab buyer — unsure which styles and colours to launch, concerned about minimum order risk.
Sample pack of 3 styles × 4 colours (12 samples). We advised launching with 8 colours in the chiffon two-piece based on UK market sell-through patterns across similar buyers.
Result: Initial order 8 colours × 50 pcs. Best-selling colour reordered within 3 weeks of launch. Second order added sports instant hijab range.
“The colour advice was right — we would have launched with 4 and undersold. Starting with 8 made a real difference.”
